Cleaning beyond the clog

High-pressure water. A clearer path through the pipe.

Hydro jetting uses a specialized nozzle and pressurized water to break up and flush away suitable obstructions. It can help remove grease, sludge and other buildup that restricts a line.

The first question is what is causing the problem. Pipe condition, access and the type of blockage all matter. We’ll discuss whether jetting makes sense for your line and whether a camera inspection would help explain what is happening.

When jetting may help

Different blockages need different approaches.

Describe what you are noticing and how often it happens. A slow drain or backup is a symptom—not a diagnosis.

01 / Buildup

Grease, sludge & restricted flow

Deposits inside a pipe can reduce the space available for wastewater to move. Jetting can help clean suitable lines and flush away accumulated material.

02 / Roots

Roots inside the piping

Appropriate jetting equipment can clear some root obstructions. Roots can return if the opening that allowed them into the pipe remains, so damaged joints or piping may also need repair.

03 / Recurring trouble

A clog that keeps coming back

Repeated blockages deserve a closer look. Cleaning may help with buildup, but a broken, collapsed or sagging pipe needs a different solution.

Know what the work can do

Clear the obstruction. Understand the cause.

Jetting cleans piping. It does not rebuild a damaged line, correct its slope or replace a failed section. It is also different from pumping a septic tank or evaluating a drain field.

If the findings point to a repair, we’ll explain the issue and discuss the proposed work before you decide how to proceed.

A camera can help answer the next question.

Where access and visibility allow, a camera inspection can reveal roots, visible damage and remaining obstructions. A heavy blockage may limit the view until the line is cleared.

The goal is to understand whether cleaning addresses the problem or whether something else needs attention.

What to expect

Start with the problem. Leave with a next step.

Let us know your town, what is backing up or draining slowly, and any previous cleaning or repair work. Existing inspection reports or camera footage can also be useful.

  1. Discuss the symptoms and access.

Tell us what you are seeing and where the line, tank or cleanout can be reached.

  2. Evaluate the appropriate approach.

We discuss the likely obstruction, pipe condition and whether inspection or cleaning should come next.

  3. Clean suitable piping.

When jetting is appropriate, the cleaning approach is selected for the line and the work required.

  4. Review what was found.

Discuss the result and whether further inspection, monitoring or a pipe repair is recommended.

Common questions

Before you schedule.

Your system’s condition determines the right approach. Call 845-239-2414 with questions about your property.

Is hydro jetting safe for older pipes?

Age alone does not decide whether a pipe can be jetted. Material, condition, access and existing damage need to be considered. A fragile or damaged line may require a different approach or repair.

Will jetting permanently stop roots?

No. Clearing roots can open a line, but it does not seal the joints or cracks where they entered. Roots may return unless the entry points are addressed.

Is jetting always better than snaking?

No single method is right for every blockage. Snaking, jetting and repair serve different purposes. The obstruction and the condition of the line help determine which approach makes sense.

Does jetting replace tank pumping or fix a drain field?

No. Pipe cleaning is a separate service. A full tank, a field problem and a blocked pipe require different evaluations; clearing a line does not establish that the entire septic system is working properly.

How much will the work cost?

The scope depends on access, the length and condition of the line, the obstruction and any inspection needed. Contact Dominick with your address and symptoms to discuss the next step toward an estimate.
