Dry Well in Ulster County NY

Sure we do dry wells, for runoff waters or even for a septic. However these are not always legal but it would really depend on your area. I’ve done one on a monday where it was allowed and one on Wednesday where it was not. Now when I say allowed I’m referring to the local codes.

Dry wells work very well if your property soil per is good. But they are not a simple answer for a septic field if you’re just trying to save money.

Let us do a perc test to even see if one of these is an option.

Old dry wells are really just a rocks piled on top of each other creating a round wall with some kind of over. A new concrete dry well is a way better option than this old style. But over time the ground under and around a dry well will become overwhelmed with a biomat. So when replacing one of these we will always place the new one in a different location.

Most towns wont allow a dry well for a septic, however some do like in Ulster County. So you just don’t know and there is nothing wrong with a dry well.
