Septic tank replacement & root-damaged pipe repair in Accord.
An old metal septic tank was only part of the problem at this Accord property. The piping was badly damaged, with roots packed so tightly inside that they blocked flow. Dig Something Septic replaced the tank and nearly all of the existing piping.
What we found
The existing system had an old metal tank and extensive damage to its piping. Dense root intrusion had obstructed the lines, leaving no clear path for flow.
The work needed to address both the tank and the damaged piping.
What we replaced
We removed the old metal septic tank and installed a Roth polyethylene replacement tank. Nearly all of the existing piping needed replacement because of its condition and the root blockages.
During the piping work, we used laser equipment to check elevations and establish a consistent grade.
Checking flow through the repaired piping
After installation, we ran water through the piping from the septic tank to the final connection leading to the drain field to check flow through the repaired line.
This check focused on the repaired piping; it was not a long-term performance test of the drain field.
